About Anthony Russell

Anthony W. Russell, MD MBA MPH CPE is a physician executive whose career spans clinical medicine, C-suite leadership, healthcare AI strategy, and M&A advisory. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his pediatric residency at the UCSF–Fresno Program, one of the nation’s premier academic training sites. He subsequently earned both an MBA and a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Board-certified in both Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics, Anthony holds the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) designation from the American Association for Physician Leadership and is Certified in Medical Quality (CMQ) by the American Board of Medical Quality. He is also a certified Epic Physician Builder. His clinical and operational career spans some of the nation’s most respected health systems — including Kaiser Permanente / The Permanente Medical Group, Sutter Health / Sutter Physician Services (where he served as Medical Director of Clinical Informatics, leading enterprise-wide clinical technology strategy), UCSF Health / UCSF Benioff Children’s Physicians, and Community Memorial Healthcare. Anthony has served on the boards of the Ventura County Medical Association, United Way of Ventura County, BloodSource, Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society, and the Sacramento County Public Health Advisory Board.
